U6 Information - Fall 2010

Hello all,

I know that everyone is awaiting information in regards to the U6 coaches, team assignments, practice schedules, etc. We are currently finalizing the rosters for each time. We would like to have had this information out already, but due to a large number of late registrations, we have not been able to complete them yet. Thank you to all who have volunteered to coach, but we are still in need of coaches. If you could volunteer to coach, please respond to this email. You do not have to have coached previously or have a soccer background. The club will have training sessions as well as practice drills that you can run. You just need to be willing to help.

While we are completing the rosters, I wanted to send out as much information as possible.

Practices will start the week of 8/30/2010. Practices will run either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Practices normally begin at 5:30 or 6:00 and are set by the coach. Your child's coach will communicate that to you. Games are tentatively scheduled to start on 9/12/2010. We did this to avoid the Labor Day holiday this year. I will provide a game schedule shortly.

Equipment and uniform: All children must have shin guards to practice or play in games. This is for the safety of the children. Each child should bring a water bottle as well. Soccer cleats are not required, but are recommended. A size 3 soccer ball is used at this age. For game day, please make sure that each player has black soccer shorts and socks (available for purchase at Sneaker Villa). Uniform shirts will be provided by the club and they will be distributed prior to the first game.

Additional information about the club can be found on the club website at cwsoccer.info. You will find valuable information there; such as club announcements, club meeting minutes, etc. There is a club meeting held every 3rd Thursday of every month. Exact Time & Location TBA, usually between CW East Elementary School and Ozgood's in Robesonia. You are welcome to attend, even encouraged. You will find out a lot about what is going on in the club.

We will have the rosters complete shortly and the coaches will contact you at that time. Thank you for your patience. We could complete the rosters sooner by not allowing late registrations, but we want to allow all children who wish to play soccer the opportunity to do so. Again, please contact me if you would like to volunteer to coach.
